The quality care of your investment is our highest priority and we take every step to treat it in that manner. Our trained technicians will carefully analyze the pre-existing condition of your rug; issues such as particularly soiled or damaged areas are carefully noted. We then discuss any areas of concern, so that your aware of what to expect when our process is completed.
One would be amazed at how much highly abrasive particulate matter can hide in the depths of your rug - material that even the best vacuums can not pull from the heart of the weave.
For this step,we place your rug upside down on a specially designed dusting grid and use our state-of-the-art professional rug duster to dislodge the hidden particles. These powerful throbbing vibrations (combined with gravity) produce amazing results without the aggressive treatment of tumble dusters or other methods that would curtail the life of the rug.
This process helps identify the color fastness of the dyes and how well they are bonded to the fibers to ensure stability. During this stage, your rug will be in a minimum of 24 to 48 hour assessment to check all dyes throughout the entire rug or textile.
Based on our previous steps, we select the safest process for your rug:
- Individual submersion
- Individual immersion
- Bonnet style cleaning
- Traditional style wash
- Dry cleaning
- Surface cleaning
Utilizing the method determined best in our evaluation process, we will thoroughly clean your rug.
Through the evaluation process, we have also determined the best air drying method for your rug. For rugs larger than 5x8, we are going to dry flat. For certain rugs, we will use custom built airframes, using moving air from the front and back and stabilizing the edges as necessary to maintain the structural integrity of the rug. Our knowledge of both traditional and modern weaving practices is of tremendous value in determining areas of a rug with the weakest innate structural integrity.
At this point, we carefully inspect the rug to make sure that any and all pre existing conditions have been addressed to the maximum possible extent. We also conduct any repairs or additional services such as trimming any stray fibers so they don't get caught in your vacuum cleaner.
The final step when appropriate for the style of rug is to forced-air dust, grinning the pile and fluffing it for a beautiful final appearance in preparation for its safe return home.
